Hello readers of ION. I know this blog has been inactive for a long while, but I just wanted to have a little conversation with you guys about something awesome, and totally not awesome at the exact same time. I just want to talk to you guys about The Oatmeal. Recently, Matthew Inman, the creator and sole contributor to The Oatmeal was sued by funnyjunk, and some stuff blew up, and it was crazy. Matthew Inman, being the badass he is, donated a bunch of money to the WWF to save the bears. Now, Matthew Inman the creator and sole contributor to The Oatmeal is being sued over a trademark. The Oatmeal is super funny and Matthew Inman is a super creative and funny guy. I honestly think he doesn't deserve all the stuff that has been happening to him, and he deserves more support from people who feel he is a creative and funny guy. If you need more of an incentive, he's also the guy who did the whole Nikola Telsa museum thing. He's an awesome guy. So, all I ask of you guys is that you could maybe check out The Oatmeal and maybe just decide to support it yourself. I know I want The Oatmeal to stay around for a long time, so it would mean a lot to any fan. Thanks guys!

Australia Working to Ban Smoking
I just heard the news, that the Australian government is trying something in the state of Tasmania. They are putting a ban down for tobacco products for anyone born past the year 2000. Everyone. Regardless of age. Now or 30 years down the road, unless the ban is lifted by then, you will not be able to smoke if you were born past the deadline.

People who care about World of Warcraft have probably already seen the cinematic for the upcoming expansion Mists of Pandaria. But here it is, anyway. This is truly amazing. Although I'm not sure about how it ranks compared to the other trailers, at least in my book.

The Network: The Internet Association
The Network will be a stop to hear about all the online news. Facebook, Google, and Reddit are just some of the sites we might discuss. Never be an internet noob again! Stay in the know with The Network!
Facebook, Google, Amazon, and Ebay have just teamed up to create what is known as the "Internet Association." On their website they state they are trying to keep a free, public internet. Interesting.

Mars Landing
Hello readers of ION. The Mars Rover Curiosity just landed safely on the red planet.
This 2.5 billion dollar mission was a success and mission control just expressed everything I was feeling as it touched down. Wow. 10:14 PM PDT was the official touchdown time of the rover. This was the first picture sent back down to Pacedena, CA looked a bit like this.

Terrible, I know. But that is low-res. A wheel is pictured in there. A high-res pic came a little bit later, but it'll be all over the internet. There was also a picture taken on the front end of the rover as well. Here it is.
You can see the shadow of the rover there.
Curiosity is safe, and she is doing great. There was a bit of dust but nothing major. Press conferences are starting soon.
I cannot explain the emotion. We just landed the biggest rover on the face of the planet (did you see what I did there) We are going to look for the unknown, finally. This is the mission we have been waiting for.
Six years are the making, of something this incredible. The universe was one-upped by the human spirit today, and we will continue to keep growing. We dared mighty things, and we ate our peanuts, and we landed on another planet. And I'll be up doing this when we land a human on mars.
Like the guy in mission control said, HOLY SHIT!
Let our curiosity take us places we never dreamed we'd be.

Gears and Gadgets: OSX Mountain Lion
Hello readers of ION. OSX Mountain Lion came out recently, and in a week or so, I will be getting a laptop and be able to download it. So, if you are patient enough, I might even do a video review of Mountain Lion.
But for the time being, you can read this article. It is quite long, and I would recommend just going to the things that will interest you, but it's here for your reading.
And just as another update, Minecraft 1.3 will be coming out very soon, and a in depth blog and vlog will be done about that as well.
Thanks.
