Technology is always evolving, and sometimes it's hard to keep up. Here at Gears and Gadgets, we'll discuss all the latest innovations in technology and science, and will give you links to people who know even more about the subject!
Today, the 4 inch iPhone 5 was introduced to the world by Apple. This blog will cover the major differences between this and the iPhone 4/4S, and what I think about it.
One of the hot topics with any new iPhone is the battery life. The iPhone 5 will have an 8 hour LTE browsing battery life which will be significantly better than previous iPhone's if these accusations hold up to the truth.
The dock connecter has also been improved. It has been made 80% smaller than it's counterpart, and will make it hard at first for apple fan boys and girls to get their adapters and cords in line. I feel this dock connecter will save a lot of trouble in the future, and I also feel that this is one step closer to really separating iPhone's and other Apple products, which is long overdue.
The iPhone is the lightest of it's kind and it's going to be 18% smaller than the 4S. This was done by stretching out the iPhone and adding touch-cell technology that will make the touch screen work on the actual screen, instead of mechanics that bulks up the phone. The new iPhone will also have a metal back, which may save some of those infamous shattered screens we know so well on the iPhone.
The resolution has also been improved on this longer iPhone to 1136x640 allowing a fifth icon row.
The iPhone 5 also has a new 8 mega pixel camera and will perform better in low-light situations. The front facing camera also got a resolution bump to 720p.
And the last big thing: The A6 Processor. This will make it easier for many gamers on the iPhone, and prove for better graphics and a faster iPhone experience in general. This processor is said to provide graphics 2 times faster than before. This should prove well for the mobile gaming industry.
Overall, the iPhone 5 is looking pretty good. I think a lot of people will choose to upgrade, especially people who opted out of upgrading to the 4S. I think this new design will attract more Droid users, and I really do think this is the iPhone that many people are going to make the switch for.
The iPhone 4 may have been the most "innovative" in it's technology but this new iPhone uses every resource to make it better.
The iPhone will officially be released on September 21st but pre-orders will start on the 19th.
