Minespawn: Block by Block

Game Grenade is where you can hear about everything game related: reviews, tutorials, news, fan-fiction, and just plain fun.  Here we'll be covering today's best sellers as well as decade old classics.

First off, I want to apologize for the lack of activity on ION lately.  We've all got a lot of things going on right now, and I've been unable to situate new members.  We'll be continuing to bring you the news about...things, but just know that we are all a bit busy right now.

Now, to Minecraft.  Guess what?  They're working with the UN now!  Pretty cool stuff.

A while back, some people recreated a Swedish neighborhood which was apparently less than satisfactory to live in.  They let the citizens of this area log onto the server and design their town as they wanted it to be.

I guess it was a success, because the United Nations want to get in on the action.  So Mojang and the UN have created Block By Block, a program where people can create their city from the ground up in a virtual setting, and give Town Planners a good idea of what their community wants.

Right now they're working on a project in Nambia, and the recreation of the site looks very good.

Hopefully, this will bring in a new wave of community involvement in making their home how they want it, and towns will start to get a much friendlier feel.  Read the original article on the Mojang site here: http://www.mojang.com/2012/09/mojang-and-un-presents-block-by-block/
